The machine does nothing until it is told. You may compose on a computer, turn four knobs in the dark, or hand control across a distance.

01 — Software

Compose the motion.

Shockspot Software runs on Windows 10 and 11, and on Mac through Parallels or Boot Camp. Sliders for depth, speed, and smoothness. Start, stop, pause. Save, recall, delete, and refine your own programs.

Factory compositions include A Stranger in Town, Cyclic Waves, Indecision, Little Guy, Random Strokes, Slow Long and Easy, and The Buildup.

02 — Remote

Leave the computer closed.

The stand-alone remote speaks to the machine without a PC. Four knobs under the fingers: depth, maximum stroke, speed, smoothness. An instrument in its own right.

03 — Distance

Play across a room, or a city.

The computer that holds the profile can be reached with a remote session — TeamViewer, AnyDesk, or Chrome Remote Desktop. You command from elsewhere. The instrument answers in the room. Only the motion travels.
